You can stop future contact by debt collectors by writing a letter to the collection agency telling them to stop contacting you. You can also accomplish this by telling them that you refuse to pay the debt. Once you have done this, the debt collector cannot contact you again except to notify you that they intend to invoke a specific remedy. This remedy must be one that the creditor or debt collector usually takes.
